Eileen Hendriksen, LMSW
Care Consultant, Director of Early Stage Services
Eileen Hendriksen has been a care consultant working with people in Dutchess, Putnam and Orange counties since January 2019. She has an office in Poughkeepsie and a satellite office in Putnam Valley.
Eileen previously worked with older adult artists, adults with developmental disabilities and survivors of domestic violence, but working with people with dementia and those who care for them is her passion. She first encountered the Alzheimer's Association while working on her bachelor's in social work at Dominican College of Blauvelt, and her senior year internship was spent at the the Hudson Valley Chapter's Rockland office in New City. Eileen went on to obtain her master's in social work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College following the Community Organizing, Planning & Development method and the aging field of practice. Before entering her current position, she continued her connection to the Association through the Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day and New York State Alzheimer's Advocacy Day.
Eileen is personally connected to the disease through multiple relatives. Her Great-Grandma, Oma, and her husband's Abuela passed from Alzheimer's disease, and she also lost her Grandpa to Parkinson's disease with dementia.
Eileen lives in Poughkeepsie with her husband, Stephen; dog, Ripley; cats, Nova and Nori; and tortoise, Toorin. She enjoys spending time with them and her friends, knitting, making pottery, reading and playing video games.
Eileen can be reached by phone at 845.637.2292 or by email at [email protected]
