Joan Carl
Community Engagement Manager
Joan Carl is the Community Engagement Manager for Dutchess, Putnam and Ulster counties.
Joan joined the Chapter in 2011 as the Poughkeepsie Office Manager, and transitioned into the Community Engagement position in May 2016.
Joan is a retired IBM press representative, writer and technical editor. She worked as the associate director of admissions at Oakwood Friends School, a Quaker college-preparatory school in Poughkeepsie for six years, from which both her grown children graduated. In her eight years with PepsiCo, Joan held positions within its HR and IT organizations in Somers as a Human Resource Coordinator and IT Associate.
Joan completed the Organizational, Leadership, Communications (OLC) program and received her bachelor of science degree from Marist.
Joan’s son lives and works in Dutchess County and her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter live in Los Angeles.
